Teaching Assistant Early Years – Hennock Primary School
Required to join our successful and caring team, we require a part time Teaching Assistant for 3 days per week to be paid at NJC Grade C, £10.98 per hour.
NB: There may be the opportunity for more hours as and when the need arises and there is also an option to assist with the Wrap Around Care After School Club provision at the school if the successful applicant wishes to. This will be discussed at interview stage.
Required from April 2023, this post will involve working in the preschool. It involves creating a fun, nurturing, stimulating and safe environment for the children that meets individual’s needs; preparing and resourcing activities and provision linked to the EYFS curriculum; assessing children’s progress and determining next steps in their learning and working collaboratively with the Preschool Lead.
We are looking for someone who puts children at the heart of everything they do and wants the very best outcomes for all children in their care. You will need to be able to spot opportunities to develop learning in the moment. You will also need to show a high degree of initiative and be solution focussed. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of EYFS, an awareness of the new Framework and have excellent communication and organisational skills to work with our team.

Ideally, you will:
- Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills;
- Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;
- Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries;
- Be willing to work as part of a team;
- Be able to use your own initiative when required;
- Have experience in a similar role
You should have English and Maths to GCSE A-C or equivalent.
