Our Semi-Independent homes aim to create a positive environment for each young person with particular regard to their experiences, safety, health, education and individual needs. We provides accommodation and support for Looked After Children or young people leaving care between the ages 16-18, helping them develop their independent living skills and wellbeing to progress to independence post 18. As a Support Worker, you will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team who endeavour to make significant changes in young people’s lives.
You will manage the day to day running of the home and ensure the young people in the home receive a service that promotes their wellbeing and independent living skills.
Ideally the you will background in children's residential/ semi-independent accommodation or be experienced in working with young people.
You will be required to have a professional qualification relevant to working with children, young people and families, or equivalent experience.
To work within this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will be reliable, have good personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards.
You will also need to be able to make sound judgements under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis. This is a great opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of young people in Birmingham to progress on their journey of independence
