Job description
We are seeking two customer focussed Visitor Experience Assistants with experience working in a visitor environment to join our professional team based at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway.
Your next role
The successful candidates will undertake all aspects of the visitor experience to provide an excellent customer focussed frontline service for all museum visitors, general, schools, events and corporate.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Museum is safe, clean and secure by following all systems in terms of H&S, security, financial and customer care.
The role will involve reception and administrated duties, promotion of the museum collections and services assisting with interpretation, guided tours, welcome talks to school and group visits, as well as encouraging sales in the museum shop, cash handling, and offering advice on customer queries in person, via email and telephone.
The successful candidates will be on a shift rota Monday to Sunday. Shifts offered will include day-time shifts as well as weekend and evening work to support the Museum programme across Swindon.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
