The West Yorkshire Police’s Digital Forensic Unit is recruiting a number of Digital Forensic Technical Officers to be based at the DFU Hub & Spokes in the West Yorkshire districts.

You will join an exciting team that leads by example and behaves in line with the Police Code of Ethics, ensuring that the force values and behavioural expectations are clearly followed, understood and considered by managers, officers and staff. You will help influence and reinforce their decision making, actions and assist and guide them with all the Digital Forensic Unit processes.

You will be working under the direction of the Technical Manager, and Senior Technical Officers, completing relevant tasks relating to accreditation in ISO17025, ISO17020 and Forensic Science Regulator Code of Practice. This is an exciting and challenging role, which comprises of a variety of tasks assisting its ever-expanding force and accreditation needs.

Examples of the day to day tasks for the role includes:
- Evaluating and validating new and existing hardware and software
- Creating standard operating procedures
- Investigating non-conforming results
- Maintain a library of relevant documents to guide and inform staff
- Review unit equipment, checking and testing updates
- Provide advice and guidance to staff around ISO17025, ISO17020 and the Forensic Science Regulator Codes of Practice
