About the role
Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Holidays and Short Breaks team as Virtual Buddying Project Assistant.
This is a remote Home based role on a fixed term contract until March 2026 , Working part-time role (15 hours a week) on a Monday & Tuesday.
As our Virtual Buddying Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Sense’s national Virtual Buddying project. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly skilled team, to help deliver a national volunteer-led and person-centred virtual befriending service for people with disabilities.
You will support and enable children, young people and adults to form meaningful relationships with matched volunteers who share the same interests, hobbies and communication styles. You will be committed to providing a high quality, safe, person-centred service and are able to align yourself with Sense’s values to provide the best service to the people we support.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be proactive, and solution-focussed, with the ability to be highly adaptive to the needs of those we support and creatively problem solve. You’ll have a strong understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, and experience of working with and supporting volunteers. You will have a good understanding of IT systems, including video calling software packages including Zoom, Teams, and Skype. You must be comfortable working with a wider team who are geographically spread across the country, where communication is key, and also be able to work independently.
