We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.
Your new team
This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
The VIP Education and hospitality manager has a pivotal role in managing our whisky education programme as well as luxury hosting either at our distilleries or potentially in markets. Managing all touchpoints of the consumer journey with the support of the Education and Hospitality team. Ensuing our guests have bespoke experiences couples to their needs whilst also showcasing the breath of the full Chivas Brothers portfolio of whiskies.
Your unique contribution
You will have 4 main areas of responsibility:
Brand Portfolio Education: Support the Head of Brand Experience, Advocacy & Education to develop a fit for purpose education strategy for the Chivas Brothers whisky portfolio. Prepare engaging and innovative education content and material. Educate key internal stakeholders (exec teams, brand teams, commercial team, coms teams) and premium external stakeholders (leading customers, VIPs and HNWIs). Lead by example to ensure your team of global ambassadors can amplify Chivas Brothers education key messages and principles. Set up relevant KPIs to measure success.
VIPs and HNWIs Engagement: Engage with VIPs and HNWIs from Pernod Ricard and Chivas Brothers network. Introduce them to Chivas Brothers purpose and craftsmanship. Also share with them latest brand stories, product innovations and ultimate experiences.
Chivas Brothers Corporate House Development and Management: ensure Chivas Corporate House is becoming a key luxury touchpoint relevant to host and entertain VIPs and HNWIs. Support the Brand Home manager in the achievement of his operational, financial and people objectives. Manage the heritage and education visit coordinator and ensure smooth communication and cross collaboration with the other Chivas Brothers brand homes.
Brand Ambassador team Management: Manage the team of global brand ambassadors. Ensure education needs in markets and at a global level are prioritised and equally allocated between the different members of the team. Assist the team with large-scale inward visits and events.
Who you’ll be working with
Your main interactions will be:
- Internally: Pernod Ricard luxury network, VIP managers in key markets, global and local Marketing brand teams, Brand Homes team, Blending and inventory team, Production + Warehousing team, Graduates team…
- Externally: Whisky VIPs and HNWIs, whisky influencers, whisky auctioneers, wine & spirit education gurus, competition brand homes, whisky community events and leading whisky stores
- Your team: you will be managing the Education and Hospitality team within the Chivas Brothers Brand Advocacy team. A team of 10 people organised between the Chivas corporate house team (x6 people), the visit coordination team (x1 person) and the international brand ambassadors’ team (x3 people).
- Line management: You will report to the Head of Brand Experience, Advocacy and Education Chivas Brothers.
Your blend of talent
This position could be right for you if you:
- Solid experience in the whisky industry
- Advanced knowledge of premium whisky environment, whisky heritage, whisky key opinion leaders and whisky making process
- A previous experience in a whisky senior communication or senior ambassador position would be a plus
- Passion for storytelling, education and a consumer facing role
- Highly effective at public speaking and engaging an expert audience
- Ability to conduct high end whisky masterclass and whisky tastings. Either in person or digitally (via Zoom, Teams, Google Meet…)
- Good at amplifying its own learnings and/or achievements through social network (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook…)
- Interest for the world of luxury and ability to engage with luxury consumers
- Business acumen with proven track record of commercial successes
- Financial acumen with ability to manage and develop a P&L
- Strategic thinking with ability to plan and anticipate
- Good knowledge of luxury hospitality sector
