We are currently looking to recruit an Entry-Level Trainee Scientist to join the Fetal Pathology Department within Necropsy based in Eye, Suffolk on a full-time basis.
Full training will be provided, and we welcome applications from candidates with a willingness to learn where you will be supported by an experienced team.
You will undertake training to develop the skills and knowledge required to perform routine fetal pathology and sperm analysis procedures.
Following a comprehensive training and career development scheme, the responsibilities of this varied role will include, but not limited to:
- Preparation, sectioning and examination of Bouin’s fixed specimens.
- Preparation and examination of skeletal specimens.
- Specimen archiving.
- Sperm sample preparation and collection for routine analyses.
- Preparation of reagents.
- Preparation of consumables
- Once fully trained the successful applicant will have ownership of their own work
Additionally, there will be opportunities to cross train in the other Sections of the Pathology Laboratory Services.

Education:
- 5 GCSE passes (level 4/C above) to include Maths, English and a Science subject
- A levels in scientific subjects
- Preferably BSc (Hons) in Biomedical/Biological sciences.
Experience:
Due to our comprehensive training and career development scheme, it is not essential to have previous experience; full training will be provided; however, good English language / reading / writing skills are essential. We are looking for people eager to learn and start a long-term career in science.
