Job Title: Junior Designer
Employment Type: Fixed-term contract for one-year
Reports to: Senior Designer
Location: Remote-first, withmultiple teamworking locations including Adastral Park, Old Jet
Studio, Rugby Club Colchester, plus various locations in the Ipswich and Colchester area.
Salary: £18,000-£23,000 depending on experience
Job Purpose:
CapsuleMarketing are looking for a Junior Designer to create engaging, impactful designs for a variety of print and digital applications.
You will work to briefs, both wrien and verbal, to visualise the client’s goals, and will report to the
Senior Designer for feedback and review.
You should be highly creative with original ideas and a sharp eye for detail. We’re looking for someone passionate about design who is eager to continue their learning in graphic and digital design, including website design and video and animation.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
● Creating varied, original designs for both print and digital use.
● Responding to wrien or verbal briefs to develop new brand concepts and designs.
● Generating ideas to portray the client’s vision and advertise products/services.
● Ability to look beyond the “obvious” and think outside the box.
● Maintaining brand consistency throughout client creative projects, working to brand guidelines and specifications.
● Designing for a variety of outputs, including but not limited to social media, digital ads, email marketing, stationery, brochures, posters, exhibition graphics, illustrations, infographics, digital portals, websites, apps and videos.
● Designing websites adhering to UX guidelines.
● Using feedback from the Senior Designer/other members of the team to improve designs.
● Keeping client digital files up to date and tidy, with a clear labelling structure and packaged working files available for all to access.
● Liaising with clients by email/phone and aending client meetings (both virtually and in person) where required to discuss projects/briefs and explain the design rationale.
● Ability tomeet deadlines and update relevant teammembers as needed.
● Assisting with scoping newwork accurately.
● Managing time eectively and notifying Senior Designer when any issues arise or you feel you’re at risk of exceeding budgeted hours.

● Staying up-to-date with industry developments and tools.
● Continuing to evolve and develop the business’ creative outputs with support from Senior
Designer and contractors.
The requirements for this role are:
● Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (Adobe XD, After
Eect, PowerPoint andMailChimp are also beneficial).
● Qualified in Graphic Design or a related field.
● Some creative industry experience.
● A proactive, calm aitude and an ability to thrive in a very varied and fast-paced environment.
● Good organisational and communication skills that support the rest of the team.
● Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with the whole studio team.
● A personable team player who is able to build strong internal and external relationships.
● Awillingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve.
● An enthusiasm for learning.
● Ability tomulti-task and switch between tasks as required.
