IT Support Engineer (part time) – 3 month contract - £130-£135 p/d – inside IR35
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic IT Desktop Support Engineer to join a small and inclusive technical support team within a leading Academy in East London. The role would suit somebody looking for a part time role – working four days a week – and is offered on an initial contract basis of three months, with potential to be extended beyond this period.
The Desktop Support Engineer is the go-to person for all 1st/2nd line technical support needs within the school. Providing prompt and efficient assistance to staff and students in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
The main duties will be to deal with all 1st/2nd line support related queries from staff and pupils via telephone/email and escalate all 3rd line queries to the IT Manager. Manage and maintain the school's Active Directory and Google Suite environments. Create and manage user accounts, ensuring access permissions are accurate and up-to-date. Manage builds of PCs/Laptops and AV equipment. Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve any potential IT risks or vulnerabilities. Assist in the setup and configuration of Audiovisual equipment for presentations and events.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a 1st line IT support role
Solid knowledge and experience with Active Directory and Google Suite administration.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
The day rate on offer is £130-135 per day (inside IR35) and is on site in East London. The initial contract period is 3 months however there is potential to extend.
