The Opportunity:


We have four Service Lines: Assurance, Consulting, Tax and SaT (Strategy & Transactions). You would recruit for one or two of these service lines,


The Consulting service line is one of EY’s four main service lines, and as such, is incredibly attractive to candidates looking to join our organization. Within student recruitment, Consulting receives the highest number of applications from prospective candidates, however, competition remains fierce and top talent have many options. Therefore, it’s an exciting time to join the team to help our Consulting brand evolve in the early careers space, consequently helping our Consulting business provide the best services for our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the in-house student recruitment team at EY, finding future talent that will enable EY to deliver on local, regional, and global strategies.


As an advisor you will get the opportunity to help co-create an attraction and selection approach to position EY’s Consulting brand in the early careers space. You will manage candidate pipelines in a business facing role ensuring that we have the most diverse pipelines across our regional offering. This will also require go-create go-to-market top up strategies, and management of top up events and relationships whilst offering an exceptional candidate experience at all stages.


You will influence the business on market insights and trends, reduce recruitment bottle necks (candidates time in stage) and pro-actively influence the business to move candidates through the pipelines to ensure the best candidate experience. This will require thought leadership on the end to end recruitment lifecycle and continuous improvement.


You will also work closely with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to execute and deliver the most effective recruitment strategies, pivoting, amending, and improving whenever necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

You’ll be fanatical about the candidate experience, to ensure that candidates are given the best recruitment process experience. We are looking for someone to join our team, but also someone who can work autonomously in a hybrid working world, managing candidate pipelines alongside managing relationships with stakeholders, schools, universities, and third-party organisations. Your focus will be on executing an end-to-end recruitment strategy for EY student roles, from attraction and selection, to hiring through to candidate experience:

  • Oversight and management of the 360-recruitment lifecycle focused on filling roles based on workforce planning requirements and business needs
  • Proactively supports the Consulting and Technology team for EY student recruitment across all regions supporting wider attraction strategies to build a tech brand and advocacy across diversity
  • Delivers top up graduate and school leaver hiring strategies for local market and niche requirements engaging directly with universities to expand the Technology/Consulting talent pool
  • Ensures active management of recruitment metrics and pipeline (no of applications to offer) involving complex recruitment funnel management and forecasting to ensure proactive top up attraction strategies are in place
  • Move pipelines to deliver the best-in-class candidate experience based on active reduction of time in recruitment stage
  • Drives continuous improvement of the recruitment process to reduce talent loss and time in process
  • Identifies new approaches and highly diverse pipelines and talent pools that offer untapped potential (refugees/military/stem/neurodiversity, etc..)
  • Proactively engages with the student team to plan sourcing for niche hard to fill roles and develops business engagement to expand volunteers and brand ambassadors based on recruitment data and demand forecasts against fill rate
  • Supports the student hiring strategy to ensure a crisp order to the business (workforce planning, Events/Attraction, Nurturing, Assessment, onboarding, offer)
  • Reports on flight risk of candidates and reduces renege rate through wider team engagement across student
  • Engages with leaders to bring EVP and brand to life through storytelling to build brand awareness for consulting hiring.

  • Collaborating both in-person and virtually with a diverse group of Student Recruitment Managers and Advisors to deliver a best-in-class student recruitment process
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with key business stakeholders to provide expert recruitment services – demonstrating responsiveness and preparedness through own actions and proactively proposing ideas and solutions
  • Engaging with candidates at various stages in the recruitment process to support their application journeys and enhance their overall candidate experience
  • Representing EY during external events, conferences, and speaking engagements in an engaging, approachable, and professional manner.
  • Presenting data and updates to small and large groups, and ability to answer questions and participate in discussions.


Attraction Skills for Success:

  • Generating new ways of identifying and sourcing top Consulting talent
  • Connecting with existing or new external partners to support Consulting attraction objectives
  • Utilizing available data to guide strategic thinking
  • Attending in-person and virtual and Consulting-specific events that support strategy


Operational Skills for Success

  • Working in a fast paced, ever evolving, and exciting recruitment environment
  • Understanding all aspects of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including tracking, processing candidates, search and reporting capabilities
  • Demonstrating an understanding of and experience of strengths-based assessment tools and methodology behind each
  • Gaining knowledge of business strategy and performance, and demonstrating an understanding of the key business drivers
  • Building strong internal networks with key process stakeholders such as Talent Shared Services, Resourcing, Operations, HR events to provide exceptional service
  • Ability to produce management and pipeline reports for business stakeholders and management respectively


Your experience:

  • Relevant student recruitment experience at scale in a high volume and large complex organisation
  • Project management experience
  • Established interest in the external Consulting market and news
  • Confidence using Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs etc)
  • Confidence using PPT and storytelling
  • Experience in event management and delivery
  • A driver and project enabler – you are curious to challenge operations and drive continuous improvement focusing on the candidate experience
