Job Purpose:
Reporting into the Head of Finance, the finance business partner role is key in supporting the directors understand the financial performance of their area and deliver/exceed the budgeted targets. The successful candidate will be an essential member of a small tight knit team and be able to deliver clear management information and accounts that supports the leadership team to deliver the budgeted trading performance in terms of surplus and cash targets.
The role has the following core areas of focus:
- Support the Directors/Leadership team to understand the financial performance of their areas and identify actions needed to achieve the financial targets
- Provide commercial and business partnering support to drive good decision making and appropriate use of cash
- Provide high quality financial analysis to support decision making & take the initiative to improve business performance Help identify commercial opportunities for each of the directors and support on business and capex cases
- Ensure budget and in year forecasts are produced collaboratively with leadership team and appropriate director and work with the directors to ensure overall performance is delivered
- Support with production of the management accounts and ensure monthly reporting is accurate and timely and variances are clearly identified and explained
Experience and attributes we are looking for:
- At least 1 year demonstrable and relevant experience in either a Business Partnering or Management Accounts Role; part qualified and studying for ACCA or CIMA is desirable
- Good level of IT proficiency especially excel
- Managing others and a team
- A dedication to inclusion
- Sound knowledge of accounting practice (P&L, BS, CF)
- Some travel to other locations required within Hampshire to support the leadership team
- Ability to communicate well and engage positively with a wide range of people both finance and non-finance and clearly present financial information and explain the commercial impact
- Ability to influence and impact
- Self-Starter and well organised with a track record of using their initiative
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a highly varied workload
- A creative and flexible approach to work
