Responsibilities:

This role would be ideal for a Merchandiser looking for a new challenge!

A non product based role which would be ideal for someone with a Merchandising or analytical background

Responsible for maintaining a preferred list of suppliers, aligned with marketing group aims

Responsible for supplier management process and accuracy of the supplier database; regular KPI reporting, contact with suppliers over performance, RAG scoring and contact with BMD to review their Supply Base

Improving supply base performance; regular performance meetings and managing a late delivery process, faulty returns charging policy and an under and over delivery process.

Support Sourcing Team in creating and producing performance reporting, highlighting opportunities and risks across the sourcing countries and marketing groups.

Monitor supplier compliance to standard terms and conditions, notifying non-compliance and issues to resolve. Contact direct to suppliers/BMD on missing delivery expectations, working with Quality Team on specific or general quality failures/returns issues. Charging processes to be managed to claw-back losses.

Manage the supplier set up and exit process for all GFR suppliers to New Look.

Provide company-wide analytical support on an ad-hoc basis.

Work in partnership with the Sustainable Team to ensure accurate records on sustainability projects.

Monitors and maintains an accurate tracker of fabric commitments communicating status of balances to BMD, Sourcing and Finance.

Project Support

Support to BMD in terms of ways of working, training and resolving supplier disputes

Providing regular reporting to Audit /Corporate Risk and particular assistance where clarity is needed.

Providing reporting and support to Finance, including resolving payment issues, outstanding debit/credit resolutions and project support.

Technical and Behavioural Skills

Expert understanding and experience of Excel and reporting tools such Business Objects and Tableau

Advanced understanding re Word and Powerpoint

Ability to learn other business IT systems.

Strong negotiation skills

Management Skills; can manage up or down as needed, ensuring issue/task resolution

Analytical and Problem Solver, able to create new processes from beginning to end.

Creative and commercial thinker, not being afraid to make decisions when required

Ability to work under pressure and multi-task

Knowledge & Experience

Must have Head Office Retail / Supply Base/ Sourcing experience.

Analytical experience

Minimum level of education or qualification

Degree or relevant experience.

Measures / Key Performance Indicator’s

Drive performance issues down by introduction or continuation of policies and processes.
Manage Charging Processes to achieve relevant clawback in instances of under-performance; delivery managed to 90% on-time, under or over-delivery to within 5% tolerance, faulty returns to within 0.2% of sales
Accurate information to enable senior management and buying teams to make informed decisions regarding trading opportunities, offering training/advice to improve business capabilities.
All reporting is delivered within set timescales.
You are the ‘go-to‘ person for supplier, BMD and management performance queries
