Professor of Early Childhood Education
Are you looking for a role in a thriving school in a Russell Group University? Do you have significant expertise in research in early childhood education? Are you passionate about developing experts in early childhood education? Do you have a strong, growing and potentially world-leading research record and a commitment to securing research funding for early childhood education? Are you delivering an exceptional student learning experience through your outstanding teaching, supervision and support?
We are looking for someone able to maintain a research agenda in early childhood education as a rigorous, multi-disciplinary aspect of educational provision. As Professor, you will initiate and lead in your area of research, contributing to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and contributing to the School’s strategic direction. We seek a colleague able to attract research funding, develop new national and international collaborations and extend the impact of the School’s work in early childhood education as appropriate.

This position would involve taking on leadership of and shaping the research agenda of the current Centre for Research in Childhood and Youth. Current research in this productive and impactful area includes work on children in care and those experiencing medical trauma, learning through game-based play and the impact of the pandemic on children’s learning opportunities outcomes.
As a School of Education within an international, research-intensive university, we have a strong commitment to research-led education. We aim to provide an inclusive working and teaching environment that attracts, supports and retains the best staff and students from all backgrounds.
With a PhD or other doctorate in early childhood education or a relevant closely related discipline, you will also have a track record of research and publications that meets international standards of academic excellence.
