Strategic Finance Associate, UK London, England

Multiverse
Full Time London, England 29460 - 50466 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.

We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including Facebook, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and the NHS. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.

Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.

The Opportunity

We're going through a period of exceptional growth, and we are investing in a Strategic Finance team. This team will lead strategic analysis as well as complex and cross-functional projects, implementing and optimising new processes that collect data and share insights and KPIs that span across the organisation. This is a creative role that requires both analytic and interpersonal skills to identify opportunities for improvement and sell them to key stakeholders.

The Finance Associate will be the first team member reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance and will lead strategic analysis as well as assist on analysing corporate development opportunities that may arise.

This is a high leverage position where you’ll have significant access to company-wide data as well as stakeholders, collaborating with our largest teams and driving analytical and operational excellence.

This role will include:

  • Owning the analysis underpinning key strategic decisions such as apprentice growth forecasting, KPI derivation, delivery cost measurement, and CAC and CLV calculations.

  • Proactively identifying insights in large data sets to drive commercial objectives

  • Creating relationships and processes that allow information from other teams to flow smoothly into our models for efficient analysis

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to determine the best way to present, display and update key findings so that they are immediately actionable by key departments

  • Owning financial models, valuation and other analysis that are key to evaluating potential Corporate Development initiatives

  • Projects such as forecasting modelling, cost analysis and modelling, financial modelling, competitive analysis, valuation analysis, pricing analysis, and more

The right candidate will have:

  • Outstanding data analysis and presentation skills; you enjoy working with large data sets to draw important conclusions, you can present key ideas convincingly, and you are able to work quickly

  • Significant (multi-year) experience in either financial analysis, large data analysis, or business planning roles

  • A functional knowledge of accounting gained through experience in due-diligence, audit, or other financial analysis

  • Results-focused mindset, bringing excellence to everything you do: we need someone who can hit the ground running and make a significant impact, fast!

  • Experience building three statement financial models

  • Strong track record of leading complex, ambiguous projects with multiple partners successfully

  • Comfort with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Python and SQL a plus

  • Highly productive and motivated by solving tough problems

  • Strong hustle - with no aversion to 'rolling up your sleeves' and solving immediate business problems and projects

  • Team player who is comfortable working in a high-growth, constantly evolving environment

  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision

  • Proven track record of gaining and maintaining trust from key stakeholders across functions

Benefits:

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 6 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & wellbeing - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid & remote working - weekly or monthly visits to the London office

  • Equity - every Multiverse employee has ownership in the business through equity options

  • Team fun - weekly socials and regular offsite events

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:

We’re an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. This will never change.

Safeguarding:

All posts in Multiverse involve some degree of responsibility for safeguarding. Successful applicants are required to complete a Disclosure Form from the Disclosure and Barring Service ("DBS") for the position. Failure to declare any convictions (that are not subject to DBS filtering) may disqualify a candidate for appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light subsequently.
