An amazing opportunity has arisen with Swan Family, for a Sessional Family Contact Worker to work in Coventry. This will be within our Children and Family Contact Centre and out and about in the community. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and creative Family Support Worker, who is committed to improving the outcomes for children, young people and families. The successful candidates will be joining a dynamic team who is passionate about working directly with children and their families delivering a crucial service.
Responsibilities:
- Transport and escort children and young people.
- To undertake and observe supervised contact for children and their families.
- Risk managing and intervening as necessary to safeguard children.
- You will have good report writing skills to factually describe observations within the contact session within the agreed time scale.
- To attend and participate in planning meetings or reviews, as required.
- Ability to prioritise safeguarding and be able to identify and respond to levels of risk
- To attend supervision and training courses in relation to the tasks, as required.
The ideal candidate with have the following qualities:
- Calm and approachable nature
- Great attention to detail with regards to report writing
- Able to deal with challenging situations/resolve conflicts
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding measures
Essential Requirements:
- You must hold minimum level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People or equivalent
- A current DBS for working with adults and children - we can assist you
Desirable Requirements:
- A driving licence and access to a car is desirable but not essential
