Job description
The Sr. Corporate Communications Specialist protects the brand and image of AmeriHealth by providing strategic communications counsel to ensure the company is well-positioned with key external stakeholders, including NJ media. This position also supports the company’s employee communications.
This is a part-time position (22.5 hours per week) and reports to the Manager, Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide communications counsel to internal stakeholders on external and internal communications including media interviews, speaking engagements, social media and town hall meetings.
- Conduct media relations efforts including writing news releases, pitching media and responding to media requests.
- Provide support on the development of crisis response strategies, reactive statements, FAQs and other deliverables as needed.
- Leverage social channels, collaborating closely with social media team for brand enhancement, executive visibility, and telling the company’s story in a compelling way.
- Amplify the brand by leveraging digital communications to positively promote the company’s products, services, people and commitment to the community, support content creation and coordinate logistics for digital communications campaigns.
- Work closely with Medical Director to amplify timely and relevant health and wellness topics.
- Identify award opportunities for the company and facilitate nomination processes, including the company’s participation in the annual Best Places to Work Survey.
- Collaborate with marketing team to ensure advertising is reflective of corporate brand and tone.
- Work closely with parent company to ensure communications are aligned both internally and externally.
- Support effective, consistent, and meaningful associate communications in the form of:
messages from the president, a weekly newsletter, an intranet site, internal
announcements.
Qualifications:
- A strong communications or public relations person who has at least 8-10 years’ experience.
- Outstanding writing, editing and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in PowerPoint necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all leadership levels.
- Ability to work autonomously in a shared services environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while adhering to short deadlines.
- Social media experience necessary.
Hybrid of Choice:
Independence has implemented a “Hybrid of Choice” model which provides our associates with the flexibility to choose whether to work remotely, work in the office every day, or work in the office on certain days at their discretion. However, management may require our associates to work from Independence’s physical office locations on certain occasions. This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid of Choice” model. While associates may work remotely, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
