Job description
Can you spot a social media trend a mile off? Can you craft compelling social media content to grab supporter’s attention as they scroll through their feed? We’re looking for a Social Media Officer to join our talented award-winning team, dedicated to transforming the lives of millions of people in the UK living with lung disease who need us now more than ever.
Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.
You will work with teams across the organisation to curate and create engaging social media content including blogs, animations, infographics and storyteller-led posts. You will plan and deliver social media campaigns, monitor and respond to audiences on Asthma + Lung UK’s social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. And you’ll help us work with influencers on social media to help us ensure our important messages reach as many people as possible.
You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys being proactive and tapping into the social media landscape to raise awareness and influence change. You’ll have an active and in-depth knowledge of social and digital media and its applications including using analytics, providing a good customer service through monitoring, knowing what content will be engaging for different platforms and understanding broad trends within social media on various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for an organisation or charity.
One of our strategic aims is to tackle health inequalities, particularly around health outcomes for people from minority ethnic groups, and so we'd therefore particularly welcome applications from people from those backgrounds.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.
