Job description
- Supervises and assists production/shipping employees and ensures that quality and production objectives are met in a safe and efficient manner
- Assigns daily production duties for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift based on the production schedule from information received from the Scheduler, some short and long term planning is required for assembly equipment placement/availability, and timing of raw material from remote warehouses
- Disciplines and recommends termination of production area employees. Instructs all production employees on job safety procedures
- Conducts and participates in JHSC Monthly Inspections and Safety Audits
- Administers first aid as required
- Makes minor repairs and adjustments to production equipment or refers problem to technicians
- Communicates to on-coming supervisor the status of the shop floor including changes in production or staff
- Attends seminars, courses in such areas as management skills, motivation training and computer training, as required
- Secures facility for shutdowns and weekends
- Performs other related duties as required
- Community College diploma or equivalent
- 5 years supervisory experience or equivalent
- Be willing and able to work any shift
- Dependable (perform well under pressure, follow directions carefully and complete tasks on time)
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills
- Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Accept constructive feedback
- Strong organizations skills such as multi-tasking, setting and resetting priorities
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal/written) and supervisory/leadership skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to speak, write and read English is required
