We own and manage more than 7,000 properties across the East Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber, helping thousands of people in our communities every single day. This includes homes for affordable rent, homes for students and homes for older people. We even develop new homes to help people get on the property ladder. In addition to this, we provide Student accommodation. We support over 4000 learners a year with everything from entry level qualifications, arts and wellbeing courses through to employability support to help people fulfil their potential. This is through Riverside Training, our employment and skills team, and CLIP, an education provider.

This is a hybrid role allowing home working, however there will be times when you are needed to come in to our head office (Gainsborough). The Sheffield office is also available to use, should you wish.
Although you will ideally have information governance experience, this is an excellent opportunity to learn and/or develop the data protection side of the role too.
As a Governance Officer, a typical day might include:
- Making sure that all the necessary arrangements are in place for our committee meetings; preparing the agendas in advance, collating the meeting papers and publishing them on time in readiness for the meeting.
- You will attend the committee meetings and take the minutes, making sure that you note any actions, and record all of the committee’s decisions accurately. You will also ensure that these are all done professionally and timely and that the committee stays within its Terms of Reference.
- Ensuring that actions captured in the committee meeting are shared and then updated prior to the next meeting and making sure that the meeting forward planner is kept up to date.
- Arrange and coordinate Acis’ Annual General Meeting.
- Help to ensure that all the statutory company registers are kept up to date.
- Assist in the preparation of the Regulatory Standards self-assessments, and the self-assessment against our chosen Code of Governance.

What a good Governance Officer looks like to us:
- Excellent typing skills.
- The experience of and ability to take concise and accurate minutes of meetings and produce them for the Chair in a timely manner.
- Experience of providing advice and assistance in relation to all things data protection. You’ve experience of working within governance and/or data protection environment.
- You’re happiest when you are working within a team environment as we all support each other, but equally you will be able to work on your own without supervision.
- Understanding of and ideally complying with SAR's
- You must know how to keep the information that you hear from working in your role confidential.
- You will ensure that Acis and its customers obtain maximum benefit from what we spend on goods, services and works, through direct accountability for the procurement and the contract management of your budget areas; ensuring VfM and compliance with Acis financial regulations and procurement procedures.
- A recognised qualification in typing.
- A qualification, or good experience of minute taking, would be amazing.
