Job description
As a key member of the central sales team, your main focus will be on delivering a first class enquiry handling service to new, prospective and existing clients. You will be involved in driving and converting business primarily from the Sports sector and seeing these through the full booking journey.
You will focus on maximising revenue generation dealing with Sports Teams, Agents and a variety of sporting bodies; handling enquiries, issuing proposals, setting on site client appointments as required and handing business opportunities through to conversion and contracting.
This is an home based role with occasional hotel office work. You will be a confident “people” person with strong administrative skills and an eye for detail.
Purpose of the Role and Key Accountabilities
Enquiry Administration and Systems
You will:
Handle enquiries professionally through to conversion, supplying clients with accurate proposals and answering queries as required, by phone or by e mail
Deal with a wide range of clients and events from across the Sports Sector
Complete many administrative tasks within the Sports Desk and ensure these are dealt with accurately with great attention to detail
Ensure all proposals and contracts are issued in a timely manner to support conversion of business and fall in line with the company standards and expectations
Record information accurately and support data integrity as mandated into the bookings systems
Coordinate the details of events booked in the hotels, communicating with both the client and the operational teams on requirements with a high degree of accuracy
Post revenues and ensure all financial processes are followed
Be accountable for the accuracy of data integrity and filing systems in order to comply with audit and internal KPIs
Ensure the timely and appropriate management of all customer issues and/or complaints, escalating to the relevant person
New Business Generation
You will be required to:
Conduct research as requested, identifying and follow up sources of leads for Sports accommodation and meeting requirementsGenerate new sales, with the passion and drive to sell, retain and achieve agreed targets
Be fully conversant with the Village products, understand the features of each and sell the benefits to prospects with the aim of converting to sales.
You will follow the Sports sales action plan to support new client sign ups and client retention
Work alongside other departments within Village, such as Hotel Sales Offices and Health & Fitness to generate new business
Demonstrate passion for Village products and a natural ability to enthuse prospects.
Be target driven and strive to exceed your sales targets
Work with your Team Manager and National Account Manager (Sports) on clear objectives, targets and KPI’s ensuring progress against these on an on-going basis
Actively participate in Village brand sales initiatives
To be fully aware of competitors, their offering and how Village can gain the competitive edge
Additionally..
From time to time you may be asked to support other areas of Village Sales with administrative tasks based on business needs

Have an interest in sports
Preferably experienced in a hotel or venue sales environment (not essential as training will be provided)
Some knowledge of hotel operations would be useful
The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders
To be patient even when details keep changing
To be results driven and demonstrate clear actions to achieve goals
To actively handle problems, propose effective solutions in line with the analysed information
To work as part of the wider Village hotel team
To demonstrate that you are standards orientated and can follow set guidelines
Strong communication skills, with good written and spoken English
