About the Role
MJ Church has a fantastic opportunity for the next Health, Safety & Environment champion to join our growing team, reporting directly to the Group HSE Manager.
This role will be project based at the Heads of Valleys in South Wales. The project is managed by our Earthworks Business Unit, which will involve the management of large numbers of direct employees, sub-contractors and the dynamics in which a heavy plant focussed project brings.
The project HSE Lead will be the champion for HSE, driving excellence throughout the operations in which we deliver on the project.
Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with MJ Church management system;
· Analyse specific business unit requirements, and develop associated plans independently;
· Assist in the Development of innovative ways in promoting a solid Health & Safety culture and awareness;
· Monitor & Advise project team in regards to legal compliance and industry best practice;
· Advise & assist in the development of Safe Systems of works;
· Work independently or in a team to meet specific requirements;
· Conduct training and cultural campaigns;
· Be a leader, one that inspires and upskills those around them;
· Chair meetings in regards to Health, Safety & Environment, providing a proactive and positive contribution;
· Coordinate with client representatives and attend project specific meetings;
· Conduct Employee Consultations;
· Understand and Advise on CDM 2015 related requirements;
· Conduct effective monitoring and reporting regimes in line with contract and business requirements;
· Record and Monitor KPI performance in line with business and contract requirements;
· Collaborate with department heads and project personnel;
· Conduct accident, incident & near miss investigations;
· Work closely with our supply chain and clients to promote and deliver excellence;
Assist operational teams to provide HSE knowledge and expertise, demonstrating a hands-on approach to influence changes;

· NEBOSH;
· Full UK Driving license.
· Minimum of 5 years HSE work experience;
· GradIOSH or CMIOSH.
Excellent salary and package are on offer, aligned to candidate experience.

Salary: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
