If you do, this role is perfect for you! Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor on a Full Time/Permanent basis at our Pentagon Scheme in Colchester.
A bit about the role:
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will be to provide an easy, reliable, and customer focussed workplace health and safety advice service for every customer, internal or external, across all parts of the business. Support customers to maintain safe employment and deliver safe services which comply with health and safety legislation and take account of industry best practise. Some of the key results for the role include:
- Provide health and safety advice for customers that is compliant with current legislation and considers current industry best practise and health and safety issues.
- Provide proactive, timely and professional advice and guidance and offer proactive solutions for their issues.
- Support managers and employees with completing operational risk assessments and complete specialist and organisational risk assessments as required.
- Assist managers in identifying health and safety training needs and as appropriate facilitate the delivery of health and safety training directly or indirectly.
- In partnership with managers and employees commission or carry out health and safety audits and safety inspections and support them in responding to recommendations.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents and report on findings and recommendations.
- Assist in the development of health and safety policies and procedures and ensure that they remain up to date and compliant with current legislation, regulations and industry best practise and embedded across the organisation.
- Work in partnership with the People Department to support the health and wellbeing of employees.
- Provide verbal or written health and safety briefings or reports for managers and employees about current or newly arising issues.
- Manage the personal safety monitoring system and actively encourage use of devices and apps.
- Attend and participate in internal and external health and safety group meetings.
- Adhere to Peabody Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace.
You will be:
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to manage your time and prioritise your workload
- Able to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously and maintain attention to detail
- Able to meet deadlines and targets
- Able to use relevant commuter systems and software
- Willing to work towards a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and achieve graduate membership of the Institute of Safety and Health
