We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer join our team working on our DV2 contract in Stepps offices, Glasgow.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working directly for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Pre-Construction Manager within our Technical Services department, you will work with other key team members in delivering detailed design services including the production of various design deliverables and be responsible for Mechanical Design Electrical Design implementation. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some years of experience of working within the Water and Waste-Water sector or Industrial equivalents. This is a civil design engineer role for a non-infra work.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will include:
- Assess capability/ capacity of existing and new assets for water and waste- water treatment
- Manage cost and time constraints
- Proven skills to successfully control and manage workload and the implementation of company and project procedures
- Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions
- Design for new asset and process improvement
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally
- An understanding of industry standards
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Preferably Mechanical Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in engineering or related discipline
- Conversant with Microsoft applications; Word, Excel, Word
- Experience in design development for clean / wastewater non infrastructure would be desirable
- Engineering calculations to include system pump calculations
- Engineering drawings (process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation drawings, equipment/system layout drawings)
- Specification of process/treatment equipment
- Engineering reports
- Feasibility studies
