Position
Reporting to the Deputy Production Manager, the Junior Production Coordinator will be responsible for organising the scheduling of a print and digital portfolio. Responsible for ensuring print deadlines are met, uploading files for digital brands, paper buying, fulfilment, mailing and where necessary any paper covermount buying for several magazine titles. The level of activity in these tasks will depend on the successful candidates' experience.
Tasks will involve liaising effectively with internal teams and external suppliers and having the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously while always maintaining a very high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Other responsibilities will vary but also include signing off invoices for all relevant print/paper orders that they have placed. They will also be the first point of contact for any print/ digital / paper related problems that may occur on their allocated titles. Training can be provided in all aspects of the role, so while no prior knowledge is expected, it will be essential to have highly developed organisational skills, have the ability to communicate well and remain accurate and efficient whilst working in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
All of the below tasks will be undertaken at various levels depending on the successful candidates' experience:
- Creating and distributing schedules.
- Ensuring schedules are being met on a daily basis.
- Managing, editing, and publishing digital editions on various platforms including Apple News+.
- Providing fast and accurate quotes for print and paper where needed.
- Liaising with external print, digital, paper and fulfilment partners.
- Liaising with internal customers (teams and publishers).
- Collating and distributing full, comprehensive and accurate print orders for all print jobs being booked.
- Ordering paper effectively, ethically and according to schedules.
- Signing off invoices for jobs that have been placed.
- Ensuring any print / digital /paper problems are addressed and resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Being part of the team and helping to cover when other members of the team are out.
- Ensuring we are adhering to sustainability guidelines and goals.
Requirements
Essential
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent accuracy & attention to detail
- Some previous experience in an admin role OR experience of keeping/logging accurate and detailed information in an organised manner
Desired
- Some experience of communicating effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Good to strong numeracy skills.
- Good Excel skills.
