Job description

Who we are

Remote work is one of the great equalizers of our time, allowing people to secure employment opportunities from companies around the world, no matter where they were born or where they live. Omnipresent does just that.

We are a customer-focused global employment services partner that can help companies grow their teams in more than 155 countries and territories around the world. How do we do that? Well, through our SaaS platform, OmniPlatform. We help companies (big or small) deal with the complexities involved with hiring global teams remotely, by managing employee onboarding through to offboarding, including legal and compliance, payroll, expenses, and health and benefits.

We also practice what we preach! We are a fully remote company which means we have no head office. Our team of more than 400 people is located in more than 50 countries and territories around the world. This means you can work from anywhere. We provide benefits and support in any global location just as we would for our clients and their remote teams. Our company has a flat structure which means accountability and taking initiative towards your everyday tasks that help further our ambitious company goals.

At a time when remote work is exploding, we're growing our team to help make global remote work a reality for people everywhere.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Product Manager to join our dynamic team in Product. As a key player in our organisation, you will play a crucial role in modelling and analysing large volumes of payroll data to drive business insights and enhance our product offerings. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical background, technical expertise, and a good understanding of product management and development. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of data-driven solutions in our payroll and finance products

The Junior Product Manager plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation, contributing to the success of product development initiatives within the organisation

Overall, a Junior Product Manager in a payroll processing company should possess a combination of technical prowess, domain knowledge, analytical acumen, and interpersonal skills to excel in modelling large amounts of data for payroll and finance related insights and decision-making.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a growing company while advancing your career in the fields of product, payroll and finance.

What will you do? (The role)

You have a strong builder mentality, incredible drive and be naturally curious. You are especially good at detangling complex processes and turning them into a simple, rationalised problem space. You can hit the ground running quickly because you're a person who takes initiative, communicates well, and drives things forward independently.

  • Facilitate a development team and multiple product areas to discover user needs, defining and refining team KPIs and objectives whilst balancing tech tradeoffs to optimise a product roadmap that can be executed quickly and incrementally to start adding value;
  • Data Modelling: Analyse and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, using various data modelling techniques to uncover valuable business insights;
  • Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders independently, to gather and understand their needs, translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications for product development, whilst working with our product designers and engineers to refine further;
  • Functional Specifications: Create detailed documentation, including functional specifications, user stories, and use cases, to communicate clear and concise instructions to development teams;
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency improvements by leveraging data-driven insights and user feedback, whilst crafting a well defined and considered target operating model to drive business change;
  • Quality Assurance: Validate the functionality and performance of developed products against the defined specifications, ensuring alignment with business needs;
  • Product Development Support: Work closely with development teams during the product development lifecycle, providing guidance and clarification as needed;
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct testing and validation of new features and enhancements to ensure they meet business objectives and quality standards;
  • Product-Market Fit: Obtain a strong understanding of the users and market for your product, from competitive analysis to user segmentation, and drive this understanding through the business.

What are you great at? (Previous experience)

  • Working with payroll data requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A Junior Product Manager must be meticulous in their work to ensure precise calculations and error-free payroll processing;
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: The ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in payroll and financial data and propose effective solutions is critical. A skilled Junior Product Manager can apply analytical thinking to tackle complex payroll-related challenges;
  • Collaboration and Communication: As the role involves working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary. The Junior Product Manager should be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and elicit requirements effectively;
  • Adaptability and Agility: A suitable Junior Product Manager must be adaptable and agile in responding to evolving data requirements and adjusting models and/or requirements accordingly;
  • Business Synthesis: The ability to synthesise analyses in a structured way to drive change, through compelling case studies, backed-up by data and strong recommendation for consideration by our leadership, product and engineering teams.

You're the kind of person who... (Requirements)

You will have relevant commercial experience that can be applied to this role - you may have experience in: Product Management, Business Consulting, or Business Analysis primarily in the B2B space and working in or around software development projects to solve complex business problems and evidence improvement and value-add.

You're adept with data; modelling it and driving key insights to steer the strategic direction of a company, through the synthesis of these insights into suitable presentations and documents for all levels of an organisation.

What would make you really stand out? (Bonus points)

  • Delivered, or facilitated, a mass-market B2B product or service via a bespoke tech (digital) platform;
  • Experience with payroll or finance software and businesses;

What's in it for you?

  • Flexible working: Work from anywhere in the world! We don't care where or when you work, as long as the job gets done. We are genuinely as flexible as the work allows.
  • Development: Training, coaching, and an environment that promotes career ambition and progression.
  • Work environment: We are fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you live in a flexible manner.
  • Parental leave: For employees that have been with us for 12 months by their due date, we offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for the primary caregiver, followed by statutory for your region. Secondary caregivers that have been with us for 12 months are entitled to 8 weeks fully paid parental leave.
  • Wellbeing: Mental health and wellbeing support and services through Plumm

We will provide you with the home office equipment you need to enable you to work effectively wherever you are, including covering internet costs.
  • Education: We believe in helping you maximise your potential to deliver maximum impact. Get access to books, courses, mentors and learning plans to help you be your best and do your best!
  • Additional benefits: we offer additional benefits that vary from region to region, such as medical, life insurance, pension/retirement funds and more - please ask your Talent Partner when you speak with us!
