The Role
Condé Nast Traveller is looking for an enthusiastic Creative Video Producer to produce the brand’s global video content which is published on CNTraveler.com, YouTube and our social media accounts which currently have a combined following of more than 5 million.
As our Creative Video Producer, this role will work in collaboration with the Digital Video English (DVE and Digital Video Local Language (DVLL) production teams to commission and coordinate the global video content that Condé Nast Traveller produces and guarantee that the correct assets are produced for every platform, on time, on budget and on brand, (alongside robust video and editorial teams in both the US, UK, and global markets).
The candidate for this role needs to have an understanding of Condé Nast Traveller’s brand (the magazine, website and social channels) and our focus on smart, inside-track, travel and culture coverage, while bringing new ideas and initiatives to the table. In addition, the candidate must have a solid understanding of filming content around the world and an understanding of what’s going on in the video landscape, with the goal of:
- Increasing the frequency, range, production value, consistency, strength and reach of our narratives in all video content
- Growing our subscriber base on YouTube
- Increasing the quality, reach and amount of appropriate video content (different ratios, subtitles, engaging the viewer in the first three seconds) on our social channels (e.g. TikTok, Instagram)
This role is based in London and reports to the Director of Content Production / Supervising Producer for Digital Video English’s Lifestyle division (who is based in New York), working in close collaboration with the Digital Video Local Language team.
What will you be doing?
As a director-producer hybrid, this role is the driving force behind CNT video shoots and displays a collaborative and “all hands on deck” approach to their work. Work alongside the video teams within the Digital Video English and Digital Video Local Language businesses in the US, UK, and global markets
Direct and and maintain ownership over video shoots while, at times, working with Associate Producers to bring their projects to fruition from concept to delivery.
Work closely with the VP, Production Operations for DVLL along with Production Management, Coordinating Producers/Senior Producers and Directors.
Facilitate logistics for shoots (alongside DVLL production teams and Production Manager, when applicable) including but not limited to coordinating/booking crew, equipment, managing/tracking location and talent agreements, location permissions, risk assessment, booking transport, and cost/budgets associated with production.
Manage video budgets alongside Production Manager.
Attend team meetings to understand scope of projects and future assignments.
Flex creatively while assisting directors, as needed. Ability to work collaboratively, receive feedback, and provide notes on projects is a must.
Collaborate with global creative and strategy teams along with DVLL development leads to bring key concepts to life and revamp existing series formats.
Manage multiple projects at the same time while working under tight deadlines.
Demonstrate experience in managing a-list talent and their reps with professionalism and discretion, as a face of the brand.
Conduct interviews in the field, in-studio, or via all means necessary.
Deploys a hands-on approach to driving production, providing clear direction, partnering closely with crew members in the field/studio, and filling-in throughout the video production lifecycle, as necessary.
Handle brand and client feedback in a timely and professional manner.
Hit deadlines, lead by example, and is a model CNE employee to emulate.
Review, edit, and approve preliminary and final treatments, outlines, shooting scripts, scripts, casting, production schedules, budgets, and final versions of all assigned programs, with supervision from the Director of Content Production / Supervising Producer or Executive Producer and DVLL development leads.
Manage or support the post production process, responsible for collecting all creative notes throughout, and ensure deadlines are being met. Requirements include, but not limited to: schedules, paper-cuts, hand-off emails, selects, graphics, music, rough cuts, fine cuts, final narration and final versions, with supervision from the Director of Content Production / Supervising Producer or Executive Producer.
Edit select videos and/or provide detailed notes on cuts provided by Condé Nast post team.
Who you are:
A minimum of 3 years experience producing and developing video content on various platforms with a passion and interest in internet culture and digital media.
A demonstrated track record in production execution.
Strong understanding of production and post-production workflow.
Must exhibit strong written and verbal skills.
Experience managing a slate of multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be a master communicator and always a solution-oriented adult in the room.
Ability to hit hard deadlines.
Where will you be?
We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in the wonderful Adelphi building with breathtaking views over the Thames and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand. This is our London HQ and where members of our global teams sit enabling all of our award-winning content to be created.
