The District of Kent is offering an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Services Department for an IT/GIS Technician.
Under the supervision of the IT/GIS Supervisor and the Director of Corporate Services, the IT/GIS Technician will prepare and archive historical records, assists in the maintenance of the Municipal mapping database (including legal and utility servicing maps and drawings), web-based development and maintenance, and website updates. The IT/GIS Technician also provides technical support, information, advice, and assistance (computer user support and problem resolution) to staff.
The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma/Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology (IT), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
The wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $32.58 per hour. Upon successful completion of the required probationary period the wage will increase to $38.33 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package.
