Job Title - Information Systems Developer

Hours per week - 37.50 hours per week Hybrid Working - 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

Perm/Fixed Term - Permanent - Full Time

To support the Information and Performance team in providing an accurate and efficient information service for the trust. The post holder is
required to extract, analyse and report information to agreed deadlines under minimal supervision. To process and validate national data sets and
investigate data quality issues. To provide support and cover for colleagues where necessary.

  • To manage the day-to-day running of the Trust’s Reporting and Data Management systems,
undertaking problem analysis and liaising with appropriate staff as required, to ensure the
integrity and smooth running of these systems.
To monitor data utilisation activity and ensure efficient access to information, working with
data analysis and design functions where appropriate.
  • To create and update documentation for all new and existing processes/system
developments, to allow ease of maintenance, and to ensure appropriate training or advice is
given to other members of the department.
  • 1Work closely with the Information, Data Quality and Intelligence Analysts to ensure that the
construction and presentation of data across multiple systems and reports is consistent and
supports their requirements.
  • To ensure that all designated project work is completed to specification and within the
required timeframe to agreed standards.
  • Participate in giving presentations of applications and reports to users and other interested
parties, including senior operational managers, as and when required.
  • Ensure that all processes and applications are properly tested, with appropriate liaising with prospective users to organise testing using real or realistic data
  • To continually support the Information Team in the provision of accurate and timely datasets
for the production of national returns for local and national returns.
  • Assist in the updating and maintenance of the Department’s Intranet page

Communication & Relationship Skills To process commissioning data sets, statutory returns, and standard reports.
To investigate data quality issues. To deal with telephone enquiries and take appropriate action.
To discuss complex information requests and translate them into reporting requirements.
To ensure reporting is clear, concise and well presented so that the audience understands the message.
To liaise with other members of the department to ensure daily business outcomes are achieved.
Knowledge, Training & Experience To have good computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office products such as Access and Excel; knowledge
of other applications such as SQL Server, and patient information systems.
To have knowledge of the NHS data dictionary and data definitions and how to apply them.
To receive informal training through mentorship and shadowing to learn new skills, increase knowledge and expand job portfolio.
To ensure a constant updating of skills including updating protocols and training. To understand patient and information flows.
To understand operational issues in the Trust and external stakeholder bodies.
