Role Overview
Based at IMI Headquarters, Birmingham. This role is to support Information Security / Data Protection initiatives and operational IT Security tasks, to minimise risks consistent with business strategy. The role may involve an element of international travel, depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide IT Security advice to business stakeholders.
- Development and maintenance of policies and controls.
- Support third-party and supplier compliance initiatives.
- Overseeing day-to-day operational compliance and reporting.
- Support the creation and development of IT Security improvement plans with the IT Security Specialist.
- Support the production of management reports.
Critical Competencies for Success
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent e.g. industry apprenticeship.
- Demonstrable experience in IT Security operations.
- Knowledge of IT Security technologies and associated toolsincluding MDR, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, endpoint / server protection and incident response.
- Understanding of security standards (e.g. GDPR, RIPA, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Security risk management (including assessment and treatment).
- Understanding of IT Service Management frameworks (e.g. ITIL).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate and engage at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong business acumen.
- Works well under pressure.
