Job description
There has never been a better time to join us! As an HR service we are going through a significant period of growth and are heavily investing in our HR team, creating a number of exciting new opportunities to support our future vision.
Providing a high quality, progressive and inclusive employment experience is really important to us, and in this key new role, you will lead a team of 10, providing a solution focused HR service to the University’s employees and their managers. As well as providing HR support to all aspects of the employee lifecycle, the role (and team) will also work closely with the HR Business Partners, in supporting their management of employee relations casework. You will also champion the use of HR data to support decision making and enable the Business Partners to offer an even more collaborative and proactive service to managers.
You will have worked in an HR team in a large, complex organisation, as well as experience of successfully leading a team. We are also looking for someone with demonstrable experience of delivering high quality, solution focused HR services to a range of internal customers and stakeholders.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion are of vital importance to the University and the HR department. We have made strides in recent years, but recognise we have significant work to do to achieve our plans to become an anti-racist organisation and one at which EDI is embedded in all that we do.
Ensuring that we recruit and retain a diverse range of colleagues is key to achieving the University’s strategic aim to be more diverse, equitable and inclusive. Together we are creating an environment in which diverse individuals can belong, develop and thrive.
We’d also love to bring more experience and voices from those in under-represented groups into our HR team and so actively welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds and minoritized groups. Diverse backgrounds, characteristics and opinions are key to us in supporting inclusion and belonging within our communities where we have 75 different nationalities amongst c3,500 of us across the university and will enable us to deliver educational excellence, enterprise, research and professional service.
Loughborough University has a strong history of Staff Networks, and we see them doing a great job in empowering colleagues, building their confidence and community, and providing voice and influence across the organisation. We seek to support colleagues in achieving this balance and have family-friendly policies, flexible working arrangements and many roles can be suitable for hybrid dynamic working arrangements. This includes considering applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing HR team and positively impact on the delivery of a high quality, progressive and inclusive employment experience for all our employees. In return, we offer you a great place to work, with a generous employment package including:
