REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor

COMPENSATION: $16 - $22 / hour - Depending On Experience

About the Tribe

The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians (“Tribe”) is a federally-recognized Indian Tribe located in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County, California. The Coyote Valley Reservation (“Reservation”) is 120 miles north of San Francisco and 7 miles north of the town of Ukiah. The rural community of Redwood Valley is in the heart of California’s wine country, nestled among rolling hills of oak trees and vineyards. The beautiful Mendocino Coast is a 50-mile drive west, and the famous “Avenue of the Giants” Redwood National Forest is a 2-hour drive north on Highway 101. Lake Mendocino is a short 5-mile drive south and Clear Lake is a 25-five mile drive southeast.

The Tribe operates a number of governmental departments including a tribal police force, tribal education, health, housing, social services, recreation, and environmental protection departments, among others. In addition, the Tribal Government operates a Tribal administration complex providing administrative support, accounting and fiscal accountability, and human resource functions for the Tribe. The Tribe also maintains a learning center, swimming pool facility, gymnasium and park.

Our tribal corporations own two gaming facilities, a convenience store, wastewater facility, gas station, and convenience store. The intent of the Tribe is to reach total economic self-sufficiency for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life of our Tribal members, while making positive contributions to the greater community.

About the Hotel

The Coyote Valley Wyndham Garden Hotel (“Hotel”) is a beautiful, new 99-room facility with a pool, gym, and conference rooms located on the Tribe’s reservation adjacent to the Coyote Valley Casino. The facility will open in the summer of 2023.

The Opportunity

The Hotel is seeking a Laundry Attendant to help us launch and operate a first class hospitality property. We pride ourselves on being one of the most innovative and forward-thinking Tribes in Northern California. We owe that to the hard-working team and the Coyote Valley Hospitality Corporation Board of Directors we have at the helm. We are in a growth stage and we want employees who will help us make our new property a success.

The Role

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel. This role involves operating washing machines and dryers, folding and storing laundry, and occasionally performing minor repairs on linens. As a Laundry Attendant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our hotel guests.

The Benefits

We offer a generous benefits package with all employees being able to accrue up to 240 hours of PTO depending on the number of years of employment. The PTO annual accrual schedule depends on the employee’s Exempt / Non-Exempt status. All employees hired to work more than 30 hours per week will receive medical, vision and dental insurance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Operate washing machines and dryers according to the hotel's standards and safety regulations.

2. Fold, store, and distribute clean laundry items efficiently and neatly.

3. Inspect items for damage or stains and sort laundry items accordingly.

4. Perform minor mending tasks, such as sewing buttons or fixing small tears, as needed.

5. Keep inventory of all laundry items and supplies.

6. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

7. Adhere to the hotel's safety and hygiene regulations.

8. Report any technical issues or equipment malfunction to the supervisor immediately.

9. Must maintain strict confidentiality during and after employment.

10. Able to work holidays, weekends and evenings as needed.

11. Able to assists with Hotel and other Tribal events including setup, cleanup, etc.

12. Must maintain professional behavior with positive representation of the Tribe and Hotel while on and off the clock.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. No formal education is required; High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

2. Previous experience in a laundry service, preferably in a hotel setting.

3. Familiarity with laundry equipment and cleaning supplies.

4. Basic sewing skills for minor mending tasks.

5. Ability to work independently and responsibly.

6. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

7. Good communication skills.

Physical Demands

The Laundry Attendant role can be physically demanding. It involves prolonged periods of standing and moving around. The role requires lifting, carrying, and sorting laundry items often weighing up to 30 pounds. It also involves frequent bending, reaching, and stretching. Good physical fitness and stamina are necessary to handle these demands effectively. Exposure to noise, heat, and humidity from laundry equipment is another aspect of the role.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an Employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in an environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform job duties.
