ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
5 GCSES A-C INCLUDING ENGLISH AND MATHS OR EQUIVALENT
CERTIFICATE OF PHLEBOTOMY OR EQUIVALENT
Work alongside the clinician in provision of patient care
Provide a full and comprehensive venepuncture and blood sampling service with due regard to procedures governing safe clinical practice, confidentiality, infection control and Health & Safety
Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory
Measure and record the following in routine presentations - Blood pressure, weight and height, ECG
Support and monitor patients during nebulisation therapy
Give appropriate and accurate information to patients within own competence
Undertake and record all information on computer
Act as chaperone if required
Ensure stock items are ordered and provided in the GP and treatment rooms
Invite patients for clinics
Work independently or as part of a multi disciplinary team
Take responsibility for own developmental learning and performance
Identify the risks involved in work activites and undertake them in a way that manages the risks
Understand and apply the principles of cold chain
Ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs
Know the general principles of First aid and resuscitation and be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: From £11.87 per hour
