Job description
We are a leading company specialising in precast concrete elements and looking for a HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER for a major project at our factory in London Thamesport, Isle of Grain (ME3 0EP Kent).
Join a leading firm in the design, manufacture and assembly of precast, prestressed reinforced concrete structures for both civil engineering and building construction.
Core duties:
- Develop health and safety policies and procedures. To implement these policies and procedures, as appropriate.
- Carry out risk assessments and keep them up to date.
- Periodically inspect work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Ensure the training of workers on risks and preventive measures, emergency measures, use of work equipment, etc., by means of own or external resources.
- Inform workers about the risks and measures associated with their position.
- Control the delivery of PPE to workers and, when necessary, train workers in its correct use.
- To report and investigate incidents, analysing their causes and making the corresponding recommendations to the Management. Prepare and keep accident statistics up to date.
- Follow up on workers on sick leave due to accident or work-related illness, and make appropriate reports as necessary.
- Keep up to date with applicable legislation and advise Management on its implementation and/or compliance.
Our successful candidate would be someone who meets the following requirements:
- Will hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- Highly valued: Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card, Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Card.
- Fluent both in English and Spanish.
- Have previous experience of at least 5 years in a similar position, at least 3 years in an industrial environment. Experience in the precast concrete and/or construction sector will be highly valued.
- Availability to commute to workplace in London Thamesport or relocate if necessary.
- Availability to travel nationally and internationally on an occasional basis.
