Position Summary
Role and Responsibilities
Technical project management of mobile devices with Global Operator across Europe:
Project launch execution - hardware and software:
- Lead the process of kicking off projects after selection with the customer and internal team members in R&D ensuring that the project is meeting key timelines
- Negotiating timings, concessions and managing hardware logistics and software delivery internally and externally.
- Ensuring that the right quality is attained and that end-user experience is optimized while locking down project timelines and meeting critical launch dates/milestones.
- Supporting subsidiaries/customers on customization issues and technical queries.
In-life management – software:
- Leading key project software delivery, working with Korean and other software delivery teams to set expectations with customer and other partners with regards to timings, customization requests, quality and improvements.
- As with launch execution, leading the test process/deadlines/reporting and feedback.
Coordination with local Samsung subsidiaries, global account and headquarters:
- Handling of team members across the end-to-end project management, delivery, execution and lifecycle management.
- Process-orientation and flexible approach with first-class communication, negotiation and resolution across the project time-lines.
- Managing through ambiguous situations, persevering through challenges and overcoming obstacles resourcefully.
Technical management of new technology projects with Global Operator
- Responsible for driving and leading key strategic projects and work-streams related to technology management.
- Understand the customer needs and objectives of new technology launches.
- Initiate discussion and ensure that value for Samsung is granted by the customer in return for the company’s investments.
- Lead the process from first kick-off projects until commercial launch with the customer and internal team members in R&D.
- Responsible for leading both self-certified and external testing, managing deadlines, reporting and feedback collection.
Technical project reviews
- Preparing technical project review overseas-meetings where latest launch and in-life activities are scrutinized critiqued and benchmarked for improvements and continued development.
- Moderating meetings, communicating outcomes and working on resolutions for longer-term improvements and lessons learnt.
- Coordinating resources with Headquarters/R&D in Korea, Vietnam and India.
Day-to-day with technical counter-parts, internal and external team members
- Leading the relationships with customer-interfaces and internal technical counterparts at subsidiaries, headquarters and R&D.
Key contributor to the account- team
- Support account-plan execution and commercial priorities.
- Support team-members when required.
- Engage with commercial teams to gain wider context/bigger picture

What does success look like?
- In-depth technical knowledge in handset-technology
- Expertise in systems, tools, software upgrades and Open Operating Systems (Android, Windows Phone and proprietary OS required)
- Extensive familiarity with testing-procedures, testing methodologies - both in the field and in laboratory-environment
- An interest in technology / telecommunications and motivation to work for the market- leader in Mobile Communications Devices
- Project management skills highly valued
- Fluency in Mobile Telecommunications technology, terminology, concepts, trends, industry and eco-systems
