Full Time - Permanent Roles directly with Bakkavor from day one
Shifts Available - Days - 4 on 4 off – 6am-5pm
£10.50 per hour

The site employs over 1,900 people and is one of eight factories that are part of the Bakkavor Bakery sector in the UK.
The Role
Bakkavor Desserts Newark is recruiting for a number of Day Hygiene Operatives to join our vibrant and expanding Hygiene department at Newark and facilitate the provision of excellent standards of hygiene throughout the factory environment, internally and externally and therein contribute to excellent product quality.
The hygiene team play a vital role in our business ensuring food safety and maintaining a safe working environment.
The typical day of a Hygiene Operative involves working in a small team or on your own following a clear cleaning schedule for our production lines, whether that be a full deep clean with chemicals and taking equipment apart or routine regular cleans. The role will require you to record completion of cleaning activities and ensure due diligence.
The role can include duties such as;
- Dismantling and take apart equipment to allow the cleaning of all equipment, production machinery and production lines and then rebuilding the equipment after the deep clean.
- Cleaning of wellies and the duties in the washroom as a washroom operative including washing PPE, cleaning baskets, depositors and utensils
- Ensuring the highest standards of Hygiene in the factory and production areas to ensure food and health and safety standards are met.
- Any other duties of a hygiene operative and hygiene team member

You will be provided will appropriate PPE and full training to complete your role.
About You
- Previous hygiene experience is desirable.
- Be enthusiastic and conscientious
- Understand or be willing to learn the principles and application of Food Safety
- Have a proactive approach to Food Safety
- Be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment and working in a factory environment with cleaning chemicals and in a wet environment
- Have a basic understanding of English Literacy and Numeracy (ESOL2)
