The Opportunity
You will be a vital member of the halls team in assisting the Halls Management staff in the efficient upkeep of the Universities residential accommodation. As the Maintenance Assistant you will undertake a range of practical duties and provide general assistance to help maintain the fabric of the buildings and their surroundings. In addition, you will assist and coordinate the provision of services during the busy conference period and be part of a team providing high levels of customer care and service delivery.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has, as a minimum, basic maintenance skills of day-to-day repairs in residential type environment along with basic Health and Safety awareness. You will be organised and a have good communication skills as you will be interacting with students, guests and other members of staff from throughout the University. You will be working with a small team of committed individuals so previous experience of working in a team is required. You will need to be flexible and adaptable and have the ability to occasionally work out of hours.
Due to the nature of the work that is required to be carried out you will need to be Physically fit and capable of handling bulky items / deliveries.
