Job description
Electrokinetic, an RSK Group company, is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their small, but growing engineering design team in Wakefield, UK. This will be a permanent, full-time opportunity which will include site work and offshore travel.
Electrokinetic is a Newcastle University spin-out company, which has been established since 2002. Electrokinetic is a market leader in the implementation of Electrokinetic techniques for the modification of soils and properties of importance to geotechnical and waste engineering. The company’s clients include large public and private entities and international consulting firms. The business is working within Central Alliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in the field of UK transport infrastructure and offshore wind power generation
- The work will be predominantly office-based but you will be expected to spend periods of time on site, which could include stints offshore.
- The role will also include some interpretative reporting and basic temporary works design.
- Soil mechanics, numerical modelling, and some site and/or laboratory experience
Person specification:
- The successful candidate will be qualified to MEng level in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering.
- Key attributes we seek in a candidate include numeracy, a familiarity with the principles of soil mechanics, numerical modelling, and some site and/or laboratory experience
- Previous experience with slope stability analysis software and/or COMSOL Multiphysics (or FE modelling) would be advantageous.
- Self-motivated, and to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
- Full clean UK manual driving licence
