The White Horse Hotel is expanding our reception team and we would like to hear from you if you are seeking full time employment, love hospitality and are available to work 5 days over a 7 day week (including weekends) with shifts of 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm.

Full training is provided on the job, but ideally you will have customer service experience and confidence in handing cash and credit cards so you can balance the revenue of the hotel from your shift. Computer literacy and a welcoming attitude are essential.

Full training will be given.

What we expect from the successful candidate...

As the first team member a guest will meet, we need a friendly and professional individual.

  • You will greet customers promptly both by phone and face to face
  • Respond to customer requests for information about the hotel and its surroundings
  • Allocates rooms, issues appropriate keys, prints registration cards and files appropriately
  • Handle incoming guest room reservations
  • Keep up to date on any hotel promotions.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues and supervisors
  • Demonstrate teamwork by co-operating and assisting colleagues as needed
  • Training will be provided on our hotel reservation systems, but computer literacy is required.
  • Operate switchboard, key equipment, credit card machines and printers, hotel alarm systems and other Front Office equipment
  • Cash handling and taking guest payments by credit card and 'cashing up' at the end your shift.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy reception/lobby area, ; reports defective materials and equipment to the Head Receptionist
  • Attend training and complete other tasks requested by management
