We have an exciting opportunity across Reason Digital and our sister company Impact Social Value Reporting to bring financial management and reporting in-house and improve the strategic value-add of the function.

This part-time role is key to the success of our business and directly supports the management team to make critical business decisions to ensure we can continue to support our pro-social partners into the future.

To that extent, communication is key, and we’re open to discussions on the potential working pattern for this role that balances the more fixed compliance and reporting with the flexibility of the other work.

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 (pro-rata)

Hours: 2-3 days per week, negotiable

What you will work on

Your key aim is to support Reason to deliver the most social impact using digital. You will be responsible for :

  • Maintaining the books and records in Xero for both entities including weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Producing fully reconciled monthly management accounts for the management team.
  • Devising strategic reporting needed to help the Directors both meet their obligations, drive business performance, and manage risk and opportunity.
  • Liaising with project managers to ensure proper revenue and cost recognition in line with accounting policies.
  • Ad-hoc commercial financial analysis as required by the management team for key decision making.
  • Observing and advising on opportunities to improve profitability and review revenue streams and costs bases.
  • Producing necessary reports and information required for proper on-time tax compliance of:
  • Quarterly VAT returns;
  • Monthly Payroll; and,
  • Year-end accounting and Corporation Tax returns.
  • Subject to experience, prepare and get management team sign-off for tax compliance tasks laid out above OR liaise with outsourced third-parties to ensure information is provided to them and manage the compliance process.
  • Identifying and consulting with other departments in the business to design and implement process improvements solutions in finance that add-value to the business.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and Business Manager to ensure our financial data is up-to-date and to advise on strategic decisions.

Track Record

Your experience includes:

  • Previous experience in the Financial Controller role, or a role in accounting practice with equivalent seniority.
  • At least 2 years post-qualified ideally ACA/ACCA qualified, or CIMA qualified with established management experience

Of course, applicants that already have knowledge of the digital agency or impact reporting business models will be able to bring a little something extra, but we can teach you everything you need to know about how our business runs.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: £42,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
