Ops Director
Full time | Permanent (£70,000 - £80,000 per annum)

If so, Geeks have an exciting opportunity for an Ops Director who will play a vital role in our 2023 growth plans and beyond. You will drive the implementation roadmap for operational transformation and take our software project delivery to the next level based on our client intimacy model and with a data-driven approach. This role is accountable for optimising the utilisation of resources as well as supporting employee satisfaction and engagement.
As part of the SLT, you will collaborate closely with the broader leadership team, Geeks at every level and report directly to the COO. The ideal Geek will have the courage to champion continuous improvement and strategic talent management. Beyond this, you will be the positive driving force embedding governance and best practice into the company culture through processes and implementing, maintaining and improving to ISO9001 and 27001 standards.

Operational Oversight: Driven by a passion for consistency and stability, the Ops Director designs and oversees operations that offer unerring quality. Their knack for creating clarity out of chaos ensures projects transition seamlessly from ideation to execution. The Ops Director ensures top-notch operational quality, aligning services to cater to specific client needs. Their role is pivotal in seamlessly transitioning projects from ideation to execution and ensuring that our team is set up and supported to deliver value that the client sees.
Collaborative Leadership: Embodying the role of a true filter and translator, the Ops Director bridges communication gaps between departments, ensuring a cohesive strategy and a harmonious working environment. The Ops Director is a catalyst of team collaboration efforts. They focus on diverse team composition, proactively addressing potential dysfunctions, and fostering a unified working environment.
Resource Allocation & Planning: With a natural ability to lead and manage, the Ops Director aligns team skills with project needs, maximizing both project delivery quality and employee engagement.
Strategic Planning & Forward-Thinking: Exemplifying the DNA of a problem-solver, the Ops Director breaks down our ambitious 3-year vision into actionable and trackable objectives, ensuring Geeks Ltd is always on the path of evolution. Ensuring resource optimisation and proactive growth planning. Strong Change Management skills and foresight to bring together cross-functional teams to deliver our own Digital Evolution at pace.
Governance & Compliance: As the guardian of organisational clarity, Geeks Ops Director will bring consistency through our Service and organisational design. They will uphold the ISO9001 and 27001 standards, including Cyber Essentials the Ops Director oversees audits, ensuring compliance with industry benchmarks and client expectations. As well as uphold the strategic partnership qualifications with Microsoft and AWS and any future strategic partnerships.
Financial Management: Their ability to see the big picture coupled with an eye for detail ensures a robust P&L oversight. The Ops Director ensures fiscal responsibility, profit plan compliance, and financial efficiency. Through monitoring and close collaboration with Geeks Financial Controller.
Risk & Legal Oversight: The Ops Director systematically monitors business risks, ensuring compliance with legal governance and maintaining operational integrity.
Strategic Talent Management: Prioritising talent alignment, the Ops Director ensures consistency in the Geeks message across all processes and leads initiatives related to talent acquisition, development, and retention in close collaboration with Director of People. Understanding that growth and control can co-exist, the Ops Director champions training programs with our Director of People, Head of Academy and initiatives that ensure Geeks Ltd stays on the industry's cutting edge.
Brand Consistency & Thought Leadership: The Ops Director takes responsibility for brand assurance and thought leadership in our operations, setting the pace in breaking conventional boundaries to offer unparalleled client value that is translated into testimonials, case studies and content that can be used by our Marketing & Sales functions to support our brand.

Required experience / qualifications
Hands-on experience of project management.
Proven experience in leading impact-driven business transformation initiatives and change management processes at scale and pace.
Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
