Field Technician (Water Treatment)
Location: Southwest England – predominately covering Cornwall (Helston) and West Devon areas (inc. Somerset when required)
Salary:£26,250 to £35,050 (dependent on experience)
Role Type:Permanent, Full-Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday plus stand-by rota

Ancala Water Services is a private utilities company providing clean and wastewater services to over 1,000 Ministry of Defence establishments across England and Wales. Our aim is to revolutionise the operation of the water services industry.
As part of the essential front-line operations service in the South-West, you will be joining a collaborative and welcoming team that is responsible for ensuring that planned and reactive work is completed to a high standard and to schedule. This role helps make sure our assets are operated and maintained effectively across our various sites and that our customers are kept well-informed throughout planned and reactive works. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all activity is undertaken in line with contractual agreements and internal procedures. This is a customer facing role based in/around the Southwest area – ideally, we are looking for candidates based in Cornwall or West Devon.
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Operating and maintaining both clean and wastewater assets and networks
· Ensuring we hold sufficient supplies of wholesome potable water supplies and water resource
· Providing a mobile reactive maintenance and repair function within your operational area
· Recording accurate information and feedback in real-time using portable IT equipment
· Communicating regularly with colleagues and customers onsite to ensure swift and satisfactory resolutions and to record completed works
· Travelling to different sites on a regular basis and reading meters
- Taking part in a regional on-call rota to provide out of hours response and support to customers
What You’ll Bring:
· Mechanical skill, knowledge or practical experience within a similar role
· Intermediate IT skills and experience of using different IT software packages and devices
· Confident written and verbal communication skills to enable you to work with customers and colleagues
· Ability to manage and maximise your time effectively and identify time-saving opportunities
· Organisational skills such as the ability to complete work in line with targets and deadlines
· Comfortable to work with chemicals and gases once trained to do so
· The ability to build and develop strong relationships at all levels with both internal and external contacts and customers
· Willingness to work in both confined spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions
· Ability to work as an effective team player
About you:
Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must:
· Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years’.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes.
· You must have your own transport and be able to travel independently to our sites. This role involves a varied amount of daily driving to and from sites and client bases.
