Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for a fulltime (37.5hrs per week) position as Facilities Operational Manager at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This position will be working across sites in the North of Nottinghamshire; Rampton Hospital, Wathwood Hospital, Millbrook Mental Health Unit and Sherwood Oaks Hospital.

The role requires an experienced professional with specialist knowledge within the Facilities services with over more than one discipline to lead a multi-faceted Facilities department, managing in house services for the Trust and associated Community services and Facilities contracts.

You will be required to lead a team of in-house operational staff, undertaking the procurement, management and monitoring of external contracts within the Trust and associated community services, ensuring all performance targets are met, including Healthcare and Care Quality standards, whilst striving for improvement across the Directorate.

The individual will need to be an experienced manager with analytical insight, with an influential and diplomatic approach to leadership.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

To meet demands and deadlines, ensuring achievement of key performance indicators, balance scorecards and assessment of the Trusts performance e.g CQUIN, Care Quality Standards, PLACE, Cleanliness, Infection Prevention and Control, Nutritional Standards, HCAI, Health and Safety, Government Buying Standards, etc.

Ability to lead multiple priorities and conflicting demands in a pressurised and dynamic environment

To engage in the national Facilities management arena, contribute to and actively influence emerging policy, practice and guidance.

Ensure the provision of cost effective Facilities Services in accordance with any SLA’s or contract documentation, where appropriate including all necessary service enhancements and the delivery of required cost efficiency savings.

Provide effective management within all Facilities Services areas to ensure good professional standards and compliance with statutory legislation.

Ensuring departmental compliance to all statutory regulations affecting the range of Facilities services including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety at Work, etc

Direct the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance with departmental and Trust Policy, ensuring that best practice is disseminated.

Produce and implement Facilities policies and procedures in areas such as Training, Food Safety and Hygiene, Health and Safety, Cleanliness in Hospitals and Laundry Services ensuring best practice is disseminated.

Provide the organisation with a monthly analysis of all levels of work, performance parameters including the allocation of staffing and other resources.

Participate in the Facilities On Call Management rota and, undertake specialist training to enable management of serious incidents which necessitate the instigation of a command structure, acting as Bronze Commander.
