Pay Rates: *£18.40- £27.45 per hour

Rated ‘Good’ (‘Outstanding’ for Caring) in their most recent CQC report, Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) provides hospital and community-based services across North Yorkshire and Leeds as well as providing children’s services in the North East. HDFT has a supportive and inclusive ethos, with excellent transport links to Leeds, Bradford, York, Wakefield, Northallerton, Thirsk and Ripon. Based in the spa town of Harrogate, the HDFT hospital boasts low waiting times, a newly renovated, state-of-the-art maternity suite and is home to the £9 million Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing
- Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected
- Implementing holistic, culturally sensitive, respectful, non-judgmental care from a pre-determined care plan for patients with a wide range of care needs
- Sterilising equipment and restocking consulting rooms
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
- Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience as a Care Support Worker/ Healthcare Assistant from an Acute Hospital environment within the last 2 years. This is an essential requirement.
- Achieved a QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care with accredited certification. This is an essential requirement, however, if you do not have this qualification, you can still apply if you have 12 months paid experience within a Healthcare setting in the last 3 x years (providing excellent references are received)
- Keep up to date with current Care Support / Healthcare practices including understanding and recording accurate Patient Observations. This is essential
- Undertake regular mandatory training courses
- Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
- Carry out nursing auxiliary procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
