At Tarmac our Finance function plays a key role in running our business and we are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Data Analyst to join our team based primarily from our Alfreton site in Derbyshire.
This is a hybrid working role working in office, at home and also across our sites. On days you are required to be based in office, this role is commutable from Alfreton, South Normanton, Swanwick, Ripley, Pinxton, Kirkby in Ashfield and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
A typical day working as a Trainee Data Analyst may include:
Engaging with business teams to understand data needs, requirements, specifications, and objectives.
Pulling together data from all different areas of our business and interpreting what this means, collaborating with the wider teams to provide insights that drive performance.
Analysing patterns and trends within data and using it to ‘tell a story’.
Designing reports that can be used during business reviews.
Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed!
Whilst you’re learning on the job, you’ll attend our Core Skills Development Programme designed to expand your business knowledge, strengthen core skills and offer networking opportunities with other graduates, higher apprentices and key stakeholders across the Tarmac business in order to successfully transition into your destination role.

The Ideal Candidate
Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:
Qualifications required:
Five GCSEs (or equivalent) A-C or numbered equivalent (9-4) including English and Maths, & x2 A Level 3 qualifications, including A levels, NVQ, BTEC, or Level 3 apprenticeship.
Please note that this is an apprenticeship position and therefore anyone with more than six months professional experience working as a data analyst or who holds a degree or Master’s degree in a subject such as Data Science or Business Analytics will not be eligible.
You will also need to commit to completing a Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship.
