About the Role:
Quartz seeks a breaking news writer to cover market-moving developments across a range of sectors and geographies. We’ll provide a supportive, collegial environment that values entrepreneurialism and offers constructive feedback. You’ll bring strong news judgment, crisp writing, and genuine enthusiasm for covering major business stories in real time.
We’ll be looking for speed, accuracy, and creative approaches to formats for stories about high-profile mergers, important earnings reports, interesting IPOs, key CEO appointments, emerging scandals and controversies, interesting business partnerships, and major swings in stock prices that beg examination and explanation.
Requirements:
- Sharp writing skills with a clear voice and adherence to deadlines
- Prior experience covering business news (minimum 3 months)
- Knowledge of journalistic standards and best reporting practices
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement of the WGA-E with a minimum of $63,000.00 up to a range of $65,000.00 annually, dependent upon years of related experience.
