Job description
Accounting technicians perform administrative tasks related to the compilation, processing, and analysis of financial records. You would oversee financial documents such as purchase orders and vendor contracts, and are often responsible for routine tasks such as reconciling or auditing monthly statements. Focus on handling the technical aspects of financial support tasks, so the role tends to be more limited in scope and more specialized than an accountant, who handles a broader range of financial tasks and money-related issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the status of invoices to ensure proper processing.
- Analyze vendor 1099 report to determine if corrections are necessary.
- Contact internal and external customers to resolve identified issues.
- Prepare financial and accounting records and review work for accuracy.
- Maintain electronic spreadsheet logs of contract information and office equipment.
- Communicate with customers to notify them of delinquent accounts.
- Set up spreadsheets by writing formulas and functions to facilitate the processing of accounting information.
- Serve as the primary accounts payable contact for vendors and department staff.
- Prepare revenue collection records for both state and federal funds.
- Inventory department assets to properly account for expected items.
- Review payable time detail report and preliminary payroll register to ensure correct payroll processing and correct payouts to employees.
- Process invoices with account codes for approval and submit to accounting.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support including, opening and sorting mail, data entry mailing, scanning, faxing and copying to management.
- Provide performance feedback to assigned subordinates to assist in personal development.
- Notify management of systemic complaints and problems to obtain resolution.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or higher in business or accounting.
- Advanced general ledger skills.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets.
- Requires careful attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of expense reporting processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
