Job description
Prospectus is pleased to be supporting Material Focus to find a new Project Support Officer. They are the not-for-profit start up on a mission to get the nation reusing and recycling their unwanted electricals. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, and they are happy to explore flexible working patterns.
Waste electricals is one of the fastest growing waste streams in the world - and in the UK. Every year, we throw away more than 155,000 tonnes of electricals, losing some of the most precious materials on our planet. Material Focus has launched the Recycle Your Electricals campaign to transform the way we all think about our unwanted electricals, and to make it easier for everyone to reuse and recycle them.
The Project Support Officer will provide high quality project management support and administration by helping to plan and deliver projects. The post-holder will support the Projects Manager with the 'Investments' programme, which funds projects to make it easier for the public to recycle their electricals. In addition to this the role will focus on mobilising the growing amount of tech stashed away in people's homes and businesses, which could be reused to help #FixTheDigitalDivide, and will be the organisational lead on their work around Digital Inclusion.
The successful candidate will help to analyse project data and share insights from pilot projects as well as provide administrative support and undertake other project tasks, as and when needed.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar role as a project manager/project officer leading on national projects, ideally in the non-for-profit sector. The right candidate will have strong organisational skills, be a self-starter and have proven experience of building effective relationships and working collaboratively, including with external partners. Furthermore, the Project Support Officer will have highly effective written and verbal communications skills and be used to working in a fast paced environment.
