Job description

Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant for a 12 month contract position, located in Aberdeen (Hybrid Working)

Role

  • Provide administrative support to JV & AP Accountants.
  • Monitor and process travel and expenses for various companies from multiple locations.
  • Assist with Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Assist with month end processes.
  • Assist with ad hoc queries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the JV Accountant & AP Accountants
  • Monitor and process employee expenses in line with company policy
  • Document the overall expenses and travel processes and upload to IMS
  • Ensures and maintains good housekeeping of the expenses system.
  • Support Finance Team to roll out training on use of VAT codes when claiming expenses
  • Support Accounts Payable with payment of employee expenses, ensuring the correct coding is used and payment is made in the correct currency in line with employee contracts
  • Support Accounts Payable by providing correct coding for the 3rd party travel invoices
  • Assist employees with any expense queries
  • Assist with the preparation of month end accruals and journals
  • Perform ad-hoc audits to ensure that expenses are in line with the company policy and document findings
  • Reconcile the SAP vendor accounts for the company credit cards to ensure that all expenses are input into SAP in a timely manner
  • Support Tax/HR with providing back up for the annual PSA/P11d filings
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review
  • Provide adhoc support to Finance team
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with Company procedures and industry good practice

Requirements

  • A rounded education at Higher Level (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Willingness to learn
  • Displays a professional approach and demonstrates appropriate behaviours.
  • High degree of diligence.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Interacts well with others and follows instruction effectively.
  • Delivery focussed and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Well organised and time conscious
  • Clear thinker who has a methodical approach to finding solutions

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months
