Our client are a leading Engineering & Industrial Services Provider with over 300 sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland. A number of requirements are available for multi-skilled workshop fitters to work onsite at a key workshop site in Cardiff.
You will be working with a business who offer specialised engineering services, offering a wide range of engineering components, technical services and customised solutions across all areas of industry.
Products range from flow control, power transmission to bearings with services ranging from maintenance, repair and replacement through to specialist engineering.
The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, with previous experience of repairing a variety of industrial electronics to component level. You will have understanding of EMS business model and commercial contracts, as well as industrial consumables/MRO market, and be able to deliver an effective service in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.Your main skills required:
- Participate in call out rota as required
- Working on site as well as the workshop
- Working within the current Health & Safety guidelines and site requirements
- You are responsible for your health and safety and have a duty of care for others around
- you within your working environment.
- Promoting good housekeeping for an efficient working environment
About The Role -As a Mechanical Fitter, you will provide day to day rotating equipment repairs.In addition to your workshop- based work, the role will also include some site work at our clients locations.Experienced in a workshop/engineering environment, you will have experience of working with different types of industrial pumps, motors and gearboxes both in the workshop and on client sites.Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control productivity
- Ensure the adoption of workshop best practice and that spares are correctly sourced for individual jobs.
- Responsible for the efficient control and progress of individual jobs.
- Take direct hands-on involvement in major repairs and contracts.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of individual jobs.
- Ensure the compliance to quality standards and systems
- Ensure safe working practices to Health, Safety and the environmental legislation. Ensure the security of all plant and equipment.
