Job description

We have a vacancy for a Weekend Librarian at London College of Fashion Library (FTE 0.59) term time only.

This is a fixed term contract until 31 December 2023, salary is spread across 12 months of the year.

The working pattern for this LCF role is:

Saturdays and Sundays 9.45am – 20.15pm during BA term time and 3 Saturdays and Sundays 9.45am - 16.15pm outside BA term time.

The post holder also works Mondays 9.00am - 6.15pm during BA term time.

As this is a term time only post you do not get annual leave allowance and you are expected to work all the open weekends.

You will work with weekday colleagues and your managers to ensure the smooth running of the weekend library service at London College of Fashion (LCF). You will liaise with weekend librarians across sites to provide an excellent student experience. You will manage and support the LCF weekend team.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality, student-centred services and facilities. You will ensure effective provision of enquiry services on site as well as online, including roaming support. You will be based at your home library, although you may occasionally be required to work at any of the other UAL libraries.

You will take part in front-line services and administrative duties including support for self-issue systems, IT and printing. You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries; including the use of the library catalogue and electronic information resources.

You will take part in answering enquiries on-line, via our live chat service, ASK, and you may also have to take part in shelving activities.
